June 2, 2010: Hastings Lauds Susan G Komen Race for the Cure |
On June 5, tens of thousands of people will gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of women all across the world who suffer from breast cancer. I have always supported the global movement to end breast cancer and want to express my gratitude to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for their efforts to eradicate this terrible disease. Up to 75 percent of the proceeds raised by the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure stays in the D.C. area to fund screening, treatment and education programs through the National Capital Area Grant Program. The remaining dollars support the Global Promise Fund, reaching underserved people in areas where breast cancer mortality rates are the highest. To learn more about Susan G.
