Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed a resolution authored by Congressman Joe Donnelly recognizing the importance of manufactured housing to American families and recognizing the third week in June, which is National Homeownership Month, as “Manufactured Housing Week.”
Manufactured and modular housing provides homes to over 18 million Americans. Given the ongoing turmoil in the housing market, Donnelly pointed to manufactured housing as continuing to be a viable option for affordable housing for working families.
“I’m proud to recognize the manufactured housing industry that provides not only quality, affordable housing for Americans across the country, but also good-paying jobs for Hoosiers,” said Donnelly. “We’re fortunate to have the manufactured housing industry in Indiana because creating affordable homeownership is one of the fundamental building blocks of our society and plays an essential role in achieving the American Dream. It helps to provide families with economic security and build strong communities.”
