Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly announced over $14 million in funds to construct collection and water treatment system in the Koontz Lake Regional Sewer District. The funding is a result of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“I was pleased to learn that the Koontz Lake Regional Sewer District will receive funding to construct a new water collection and treatment system,” Donnelly said. “Right now, many residents of Koontz Lake community depend on individual septic systems and private wells, which could compromise the quality of drinking water and the recreational value of the lake. As a result of this funding, we’ll be able to take the appropriate action to protect the quality of our water.”
Originally the project was supposed to be completed in two phases, but as a result of this funding the project will be completed in one phase.
