Hearings on Limitations on Executive Power
Rep. Kucinich to President’s Culpability for Misleading Nation to War

Rep. Dennis Kucinich

Washington, Jul 24, 2008 -

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) will testify tomorrow about President Bush’s culpability for leading the country to war under false pretenses.  The House Judiciary Committee hearing entitled “Executive Power and its Constitutional Limitations,” will be held on July 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM., in room 2141 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The hearing is being held in response to parliamentary maneuvers from Rep. Kucinich who introduced Articles of Impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

Rep. Kucinich said about the hearings: “Americans have been waiting for Congress to hold the President accountable for his long list of misdeeds and misrepresentations. This hearing is a long overdue first step.”

Rep. Kucinich has long pressed for Impeachment hearings. He said, “Congress enacted legislation authorizing the use of force against Iraq based on representations made by the White House. We now know that these representations were false and that the White House knew them to be false”

Rep. Kucinich will be available to the press immediately following the hearing.
