Federal Funds Will Assist in the Purchase of 3 New Police Vehicles

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Rick Boucher announced today that, at his urging, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, through its Rural Development Agency, is providing a federal grant in the amount of $50,000 to the Town of Dublin to assist with the purchase of three new police vehicles for the Town’s police department.

“The federal funds which I am announcing today will enable the Town of Dublin to acquire three new police vehicles for its police department, which will enable the department to respond to emergencies in the Town more efficiently,” Boucher said.

With the benefit of the federal funds, the Town of Dublin will purchase three new vehicles. Two of the vehicles will be patrol vehicles and one will be a 4-wheel drive vehicle. All of the new vehicles will be fully outfitted with lights, radios and sirens. The new vehicles will replace older models currently in use by the department. The purchase of the new police vehicles will represent the first purchase of new police vehicles for the Town in past twelve years.

It is important to ensure the safety of our law enforcement personnel by providing them with best equipment possible. Today’s announcement of federal funding to purchase new police vehicles for the Town of Dublin is a necessary step in protecting the people who protect us," Boucher said.
