Kucinich to Host Military Academy Day


Encourages High School Students Interested in a Military Education to Attend

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) has announced plans for his annual Military Academy Day to be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in his Lakewood district office.




“Academy Day is an opportunity for students to learn more about educational opportunities available to them at the five U.S. service academies,” Congressman Kucinich said.  




Representatives from the Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, Military and Naval Academies will be available at the event to answer and questions and for individual consultation with interested students and parents.  All academies except the Coast Guard require Congressional nomination.  Applications for nomination will also be available.   




Nomination applications for classes beginning in July 2011 must be submitted to Congressman Kucinich by October 15, 2010.  Students must be high school graduates and between the ages of 17-23 by July 2011 to be considered for nomination for classes beginning then.
