Crenshaw Earns NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award

WASHINGTON, DC – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) today (9/23) honored Congressman Ander Crenshaw with its “Guardian of Small Business Award” in recognition of his legislative record of commitment to protecting free enterprise in the 111th Congress.

In announcing the awards, NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner said, “Small business owners pay close attention to how their lawmakers vote on the issues affecting their businesses. The Guardian award is a symbol of sincere appreciation from the small business community for votes that supported their ability to own, operate, and grow their businesses.”

Crenshaw said, “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs in Florida and across the nation. Now, more than ever, they deserve access to tools that will help them grow and prosper, not policy that makes it more difficult to accomplish that goal. That’s my commitment to them now and in the future, and I’m honored to receive this recognition from the NFIB.”

The NFIB’s voting record tallies a series of House votes in support of small business in 2009 and 2010 session. The nonprofit, nonpartisan organization (www.nfib.com) is a small business association representing small and independent businesses. Founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals.
