Crenshaw Meets with Madison, Monticello Farmers; Reaffirms Commitment to Pushing "Washington Roadblocks" Aside

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Congressman Ander Crenshaw pledged continued commitment to cutting job-killing taxes and wasteful government spending, reducing federal regulation, and repealing and replacing the costly new health care law during visits to farms in Monticello and Madison and during a meeting with the Madison County Farm Bureau.

“Florida farms are active and vibrant businesses whose owners and employees understand the economic policies that are needed to make their businesses thrive, and they are no-where to be found in the Obama Administration’s job-killing agenda,” said Crenshaw, a member of the House Appropriations Committee and the Republican leadership’s deputy whip team. “With double digit unemployment, $13 trillion in debt, a $1.4 trillion deficit, and a budget-busting new health care law, they need policies that will promote solid job and economic growth. That comes from tax cuts, the elimination of wasteful government spending and stifling regulation, and repealing the new health care law with reforms that will provide common-sense, affordable health care.”

On Tuesday, August 24, Crenshaw visited Halsey Beshears Total Landscape Nursery and Stephen Fulford’s farm in Monticello where he talked with farm owners and members of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau. He later met with Members of the Madison County Farm Bureau in Madison.

“Washington roadblocks - big spending, burdensome regulation, and high taxes - are standing in the way of a strong and bright economic future,” Crenshaw continued. “My focus remains on pushing them aside so our free market can do its work.”

Tuesday’s stops are in addition to July 6 visits that Crenshaw made to two of Jacksonville’s larger employers - Aetna and CSX. There, he also talked with employees and outlined the work that is needed to heal the economy and provide common-sense, affordable health care.
