Congressman Kucinich Invites Student Artists to Submit Artwork for Annual Congressional Artistic Discovery Competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 30) — Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) is inviting high school students to submit art for the annual Congressional Art competition.
“Artistic Discovery 2007” is a competition for high school students living in Ohio’s 10th Congressional District.
“The Greater Cleveland area is home to an extremely gifted community of student artists,” Kucinich said. “I am amazed by the quality and quantity of pieces submitted each year, and I encourage every high school artist to enter a piece in this competition.”
The winning art will be displayed in the United States Capitol building, a site where many famous and historic works of art are exhibited.
The “Artistic Discovery 2007” competition is sponsored by Members of Congress annually for public and private high school students. All art submitted is judged by a panel of artists from the Cleveland art community.
Student artists are invited to submit their work to either of Congressman Kucinich’s District offices at 14400 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood or Parmatown Mall at 7904 Day Drive in Parma. Artwork must be submitted by 5 p.m., on Tuesday, April 17.
The winning pieces in all categories will be on public display in the Parmatown Mall from April 23 through May 6.
