U.S. Rep. Luján: “We must demand a public option” (New Mexico Independent)

Congressman Ben Ray Luján spoke on the House floor this morning and said “we must demand a public option,” referring to a public health insurance option. Congressional Democrats and President Barack Obama hope to pass health care reform legislation by the end of the year.

On the House floor Friday morning, Luján said, “We need to fix our broken health insurance system, we need a health insurance system that works for men, for women, children, seniors and families – for everyone. We need action to combat rising health care costs to make health care more accessible and offer real choice.”
