Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) announced today that the federal Department of Education has awarded a $201,400 federal grant to Cleveland's Buhrer Elementary School , located at 1600 Buhrer Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44109. The competitive grant, made under the Comprehensive School Grants Program, was awarded to help facilitate the school's dual language program, and is for the period of July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2002.
"Congratulations goes to Principal Janice Arnold and her able teaching staff for securing this competitive grant," remarked Rep. Kucinich. "These funds will help pay for additional support staff and classroom resources."
Rep. Kucinich, a strong supporter of the Comprehensive School Grants Program, is a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee.
