Kucinich Says Veterans Day an Opportunity to Thank Veterans For Their Service
Washington,
Nov 9, 2001 -
Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) said this Veteran’s Day Americans have a responsibility to remember those men and women who have put their lives on the line for our country.
“This Veterans Day sees thousands of American troops overseas moving toward positions to defend our country,” Congressman Kucinich said. “It comes at a time when America has been under attack; at a time when we reflect on the sacrifices that veterans, their friends and families have made through history in defense of this wonderful country. Veteran’s Day is a great opportunity to think about what it means to be an American and about how much veterans have contributed to make sure that America is the country that it is today.”
Kucinich has said that service to the country is an honor, but one that comes with risks. “We should keep all veterans in our prayers, they are the people we rely on to protect democracy and America.”
Kucinich is ranking member of the House Government Reform Subcommittee on National Security, Veterans’ Affairs and International Relations.
