Kucinich Says IRS Has Good News For Cleveland Area Taxpayers
Washington,
Nov 16, 2001 -
Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) says many residents of Ohio’s 10th District should still receive IRS refund and rebate checks.
“People are used to hearing bad news from the Internal Revenue Service,” Congressman Kucinich said. “But this is good news. Hundreds of residents have not received their rebate or refund checks because they changed addresses during the tax year and their address forwarding orders have expired. As the holiday season approaches, I want to make sure that everyone who should receive a refund check gets the money they’re due.”
Kucinich has listed those residents the IRS is holding a refund check for on his home page. The list includes the name, zip code and city residence of taxpayers and whether they’re owed a refund or rebate check. Those due refunds or rebates have until December 5th to notify the IRS of their address change in order to receive checks this year, those who wait until after December 5th will receive their refunds or rebates in 2002.
