The recent controversy regarding ACORN (video number 29), has made the issue second only to health care in capturing recent constituent interest, says Putnam. “Clearly, they (ACORN) have abused the public trust and are not worthy of your hard-earned taxpayer dollars,” says Putnam.
Regarding health care (video number 30), Putnam said, “August was an important time in the history of this country. It resulted in the people taking back from the Congress control of this debate about the future of health care …”Putnam continues by discussing the proposal to create a government-run health insurance alternative, called the “public option.” Putnam calls the public option “a first step toward socialized medicine.”
Since 2001, Putnam has represented Florida’s 12th Congressional District, which includes most of Polk County and portions of Hillsborough and Osceola counties.
