Following the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44^th president of the United States today, Congressman Adam Putnam (R-Fla.) described his thoughts:

“It was a breathtaking sight to gaze across the length of the Mall and see the millions who had come from so far to witness this event. President Obama’s speech was eloquent and set the bar high for Congress and the American people to reach. It was a beautiful and significant moment in our history, and I'm honored to have been a part of it.”

Since 2001, Putnam has represented Florida’s 12^th Congressional District, which includes most of Polk County and portions of Hillsborough and Osceola counties.
