2010 Census

The 2010 Census is just around the corner. Before you know it, census questionnaires will be mailed out to every household in the United States.  The 2010 Census is important because it is used by federal and state governments to determine the number of seats in Congress and to allocate funds for community programs and social services.

The U.S. Census Bureau has developed a useful educational tool to help increase awareness and emphasize the importance of participating in the 2010 Census.  The Census In Schools toolkit has online lesson plans, maps, teaching guides, and other informational materials to help teachers and students learn about the importance of the census.  The Census In Schools toolkit can be found at the U.S. Census website by clicking here.
