(Washington D.C.)- Rep. Grace F. Napolitano welcomed news of the Department of the Interior’s investment of $132,334,693 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds in 26 water recycling and desalination projects throughout California. Several local water projects will receive a portion of the funds, including water recycling plants in Industry, the Inland Empire, and the San Gabriel Valley.
“The projects funded with this money will help stabilize our water supply and create good-paying, long-term jobs,” Napolitano said. “With more water being recycled here and less being pumped in from outside, we can reduce the use of costly imported water, keep our water jobs local and secure the water supply our community needs.”
Congresswoman Napolitano has been the Chair of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water and Power for more than two years, and is also a member of Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Water Resources and the Environment.
