Requesting Assessment of Katrina & Rita Recovery Project Backlog

June 9, 2009

Ranking Member John Mica, Committee Member Anh "Joseph" Cao and Congressman Steve Scalise have requested a Department of Homeland Security Inspector General review of the discrepancies in the number of unresolved FEMA Public Assistance projects in Louisiana still awaiting federal funds.  Four years after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, resolution to these projects is needed to help Louisiana communities move forward with delayed disaster recovery efforts.
