Valid question: Are men the property of the state or are they free souls under God? I am not big on the God issue but the question is valid nevertheless. Either we are a free people OR WE ARE NOT.

Thank you Tom McClintock. I appreciate your words. There is a real heartbreak going on in America since we have lost our government. I pray that the people of the United State take back the government at the ballot box. I am very afraid for my grandchildren.

I think it's fitting that he called it like it was, and said that his Democratic Colleagues are drunk with power. Which, they'd have to be when they decided to force this down our throats, despite the overwhelming public rejection of the bill, and the fact that they have less than a 20% approval rating.
Looking forward to November 2010.

@hugesinker - The Ten Commandments mentioned in this speech is a movie and the Cecil mentioned is not Moses. He's not quoting the Bible but a very popular Charlton Heston film from the 50's.

I wish he would leave the ten commandments out of this, it just puts some people off and makes him look like a right-wing loon-- just give the straighforward economics of the issue please.

Tom McClintock is a true American patriot.
It's men like Tom McClintock that give me hope for America.
I think the ten commandments is a perfect analogy. 90% of Americans identify themselves as Christians.
