Chamber Biography Gering native and sixth-generation Nebraskan, Congressman Adrian Smith represents Nebraska's Third Congressional District - which includes nearly 65,000 square miles, two time zones, and 68 and a half of the state's 93 counties - a district larger than 27 states. Upon graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Congressman Smith returned to his hometown of Gering where, in 1994, he began serving as a member of the Gering City Council. Four years later, Congressman Smith sought and won the District 48 seat in the Nebraska Unicameral. Adrian serves on the Agriculture Committee, the Natural Resources Committee, and the Science and Technology Committee, where he serves as the top Republican on the Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation. **Any personal comments** |
