Snowe Praises Unanimous Senate Confirmation of Marie Johns as SBA Deputy Director

Washington, D.C. – After the United States Senate today unanimously confirmed Ms. Marie Collins Johns to be Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA), U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Ranking Member Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) offered the following comment:

“Marie Johns has demonstrated a penchant for helping others in her decades-long career in the public and private sectors, and I am thrilled that she will bring her energy and experience to the SBA as Deputy Administrator.  Ms. Johns’ detailed knowledge of our nation’s telecommunications industry will allow her to be an instrumental voice in making broadband more affordable and accessible to our nation’s small businesses, as well as promoting technological improvements to benefit these firms.  I look forward to Ms. Johns’ many insightful contributions to promote the Agency’s mission, and to working with her to provide small businesses with the tools they require to succeed.”
