Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

Measuring 459 feet long and covering an area of 77,500 square feet, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is among the 10 largest churches in the world. It also stands as the largest Catholic Church in the United States beckoning hundreds of thousands of visitors and pilgrims each year. The building is a combination of beautiful architecture, chapels, and stained-glass windows.

Guided tours are available Monday through Saturday.

Washington National Cathedral

3101 Wisconsin Avenue, NW

Contained within the walls of this 14th century-style Gothic cathedral, designed by Pierre L'Enfant, are gardens, shops, and an observation gallery that offers a spectacular view of Washington.
