U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Lewisville, is asking Texans to document any signs they see touting projects being funded by federal stimulus dollars. He says he and other Republicans can't get an estimate from the White House about how much the signs cost, so they are trying to find out how many exist and where they are posted.

President Barack Obama "spent [millions of dollars] congratulating himself on a stimulus that isn't working," Burgess said. "The irony was too much for me."

He and other Republicans are asking Americans to e-mail photos of stimulus signs to stimulussigns@mail.house.gov. Each photo will be logged on an online map.

Signs have been reported near Waco, Harlingen, Austin and Kileen.
