Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke Releases Statement on October Jobs Report

Brooklyn, NY – Today, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement after the Department of Labor (DOL) announced the economy added 151,000 jobs in October:

“The DOL October jobs report is an encouraging sign that our economy is headed in the right direction. This confirms that the many polices my Democratic colleagues and I fought to implement has helped turn this economy around.

“However, the slow pace of this recovery is of great concern with government officials, financial experts and most importantly, the American people. More must be done to help create jobs, strengthen our middle class, and bolster small business.

“With unemployment remaining unacceptably high, know that I will continue to fight to ensure that our nation does not revert back to the damaging polices and financially irresponsible initiatives put in place by the previous administration. Republicans must bring effective ideas for job growth to the table and join Democrats as we work to put the American people back to work.”
