One of the first items of business any enterprise should address is registering with the Georgia Secretary of State.  Th
e First Stop Business Center within the Secretary’s website provides information to help you sort through the necessary forms and steps to create a business in the State of Georgia, including where to obtain licensing and permits.

University of Georgia Small Business Development Center 
Many states have Business Outreach Services or Small Business Development Centers to help plot a course for your business in a specific region.  The University of Georgia has a Business Outreach Services/Small Business Development Center 
that provides advice for small businesses.  There is also a regional office in Duluth, and they can be contacted here:
