Touted as one of the most important high-tech centers in the United States, the San Jose metropolitan area is home to over 6,500 high-tech companies--such as Apple, Intel, Cisco Systems, Applied Materials, and eBay. San Jose residents produce more patents than any other city in the country, and more than one-third of all venture capital funds in the U.S. are invested in San Jose and Silicon Valley companies.
