Small Business

Entrepreneurs and small businesses are the engines that drive the American spirit of economic development, innovation and creativity. After visiting with hundreds of small businesses throughout our District, it's become even more important to me that we foster the growth of our small businesses and ensure that they are able to compete and thrive.

I strongly believe in economic policies that spur small business growth, including tax credits and programs that make it easier for small businesses to wade through the various regulations and paperwork often demanded to do business with the federal government. Through my annual procurement workshop, I have helped explain to hundreds of local business leaders all the steps necessary to become competitive for federal contracts and have helped to level the playing field for them with large corporations.

The value that small businesses contribute to the community is immeasurable. I am firmly committed to working with the small business community, helping them work with federal and local governments and encouraging their investment so that our economy continues to grow.
