Today Rep. Peter Welch will continue his statewide Main Street Jobs Tour in Rutland, highlighting legislation for which he is fighting to support Vermont's downtown businesses. This will be the fourth stop in Welch's Main Street Jobs Tour. His previous visits were in St. Albans, Brattleboro, and Vergennes.

During the tour, Welch will speak with local store owners about his Main Street Jobs agenda and solicit further ideas about how he can support Vermont businesses and create jobs. He will be joined by local government and business leaders, including Mayor Christopher Louras, Executive Director of the Rutland County Chamber of Commerce Tom Donohue, and Michael Coppinger from the Downtown Rutland Partnership.

Welch will also update city leaders on his efforts to secure federal funding to support the improvement of Rutland's water and sewer infrastructure.
