Status: Introduced in the House on December 16, 2009 as the The Miscellaneous Trade and Technical Corrections Bill of 2009. Draft Manager's Amendment released on July 7, 2010.  July 21, 2010, passed the House under suspension of the rules by a vote of 378-43.  July 27, 2010 passed the Senate. August 11, 2010, became Public Law No. 111-227.

The Manager’s Amendment (updated July 7, 2010)

  • The manager’s amendment includes: (1) bills requesting new duty suspensions or reductions that have a House and Senate counterpart (Title I); (2) House bills extending expired provisions (Title II); and (3) Senate bills extending expired provisions (Title III).   Bills in Titles II and III (extensions of expired provisions only) are subject to retroactive treatment effective January 1, 2010.  

  • All bills included in the manager’s amendment have been cleared through the MTB process.

  • The MTB Matrix has been updated to reflect changes made in the manager’s amendment.  Additional information on bills included in Title III is available on the Senate Finance Committee’s website.

  • Bills under consideration for the MTB that currently are not included in the manager’s amendment will be considered in a second MTB package at a later date.  

  • The Committee is posting this draft manager’s amendment for the purpose of increased transparency in the MTB process, and is seeking comments and feedback on the proposed legislation.  The next step in the process will be scheduling the bill for House consideration.
