Scalise to Host Town Hall Meeting in Slidell

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise will host a Town Hall Meeting in the Slidell Junior High School gym on Monday, October 19, to discuss the proposed government takeover of health care, out-of-control spending, the “cap and trade” energy tax, and any other issues that constituents would like to discuss.

“Throughout Southeast Louisiana people are becoming more concerned about the policies moving through Congress, especially the out-of-control spending and proposed government takeover of healthcare, and they are making their voices heard,” Scalise said.   “I look forward to meeting with constituents to talk about these issues and listen to their concerns.  There is no greater honor for me than going to work every day to serve the people of Southeast Louisiana in the United States Congress.”

Congressman Scalise hosted six town hall meetings during the August recess, including one in every Parish in the First Congressional District. The estimated total attendance for the six meetings was over 4,000 constituents.
