LSU Alum Scalise Congratulates the Tigers’ CWS Victory

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise congratulates the LSU Tigers Baseball Team and Coach Paul Mainieri on their College World Series victory, which marks the school’s sixth baseball national championship.

“The LSU baseball team put together a dream season, culminated by an exciting College World Series national championship,” Scalise said. “Tigers Coach Paul Mainieri has done a wonderful job putting LSU back on top as one of college baseball’s elite programs.”

While the House had a late series of votes lasting until 10:30 p.m. last night, Scalise who graduated from LSU in 1989, proudly wore his LSU jersey under his jacket on the House Floor. In between votes he watched the game with other Members of Congress from Louisiana and Texas in the Cloakroom adjacent to the House Floor.
