February 5, 2010

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise met with Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, today to discuss job creation, technology issues, and proposed tax policies.

“Microsoft continues to be one of the most successful and innovative companies in the world. I appreciate the opportunity to meet with the CEO of such an American success story and talk about ways to create more jobs in our country and get our economy back on track,” said Scalise. “Steve Ballmer and I agreed on a number of ideas that can help create more high-paying jobs for hard working Americans, and we also discussed some of the proposals floating around in Washington, DC, that I believe could do further damage to our economy.”

Congressman Scalise holds a degree in Computer Science from LSU, and serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over the technology industry.
