Scalise: Brown Election Signals Rejection of Liberal Agenda

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise made the following statement regarding Scott Brown's come from behind victory in the Massachusetts U.S. Senate race.

"Tonight’s vote 'heard around the world' represents a rejection of the failed liberal policies of President Obama, Harry Reid, Speaker Pelosi and her liberal lieutenants. If people in Massachusetts have had enough of this liberal agenda in Washington, this should send a clear message that the American people have had enough of this radical agenda including their proposed government takeover of health care, the cap and trade energy tax, as well as the reckless deficit spending.

"I congratulate Scott Brown on his hard fought victory and I look forward to working with him to bring common sense solutions to Congress."
