Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise today released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass S. 3729, the NASA Authorization Act of 2010.  The bill includes several provisions key to the Michoud Assembly Facility and the Gulf Coast region.

“Tonight the House took an important step for Michoud's future by passing the NASA Authorization Act,” Scalise said.  “This legislation will ensure that we preserve America's superiority in space exploration and that Michoud remains a vital part of our space program.  This bill contains provisions that are vital to Michoud and jobs in our region, including the continued development of the Orion crew exploration vehicle, an accelerated heavy-lift vehicle, and the refurbishing of ET-94, and I call on the President to sign this legislation into law as soon as possible.”
