The funding will be used by the Independence Hill Conservancy District to upgrade and rehabilitate sanitary sewers in the South Brook Subdivision. This area has a history of poor performance, as the sewers in this subdivision have deteriorated to the point of considerable infiltration and inflow. Investment in wastewater infrastructure provides significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to the local communities and the nation.
