Amount Requested: $430,000
The funding will be used by the City of Valparaiso to develop Central Park Plaza to further beautify and landscape the downtown area and serve as an economic catalyst for downtown commerce and a green community gathering site. The project is consistent with the goals of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Economic Development Initiative, which assists in acquisition, planning, design, construction, and renovation of housing, land acquisition, and revitalization and redevelopment projects.
