The Bureau of Engraving and Printing offers free tours of its Washington D.C. facility on most weekdays. The Bureau is closed on weekends, federal holidays, and the week between Christmas and New Years. The Bureau is also closed to the public if the Department of Homeland Security level is raised to Code Orange. Tours last approximately 45 to 50 minutes.

Free tickets are required during the peak tour season for tours, beginning March 1st. Same day tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the ticket booth located on Raoul Wallenberg Place. The ticket booth opens at 8 a.m. and closes when all tickets for that day have been distributed. On most days tickets are gone by 9 a.m.

Tickets are not required during the non-peak season. Visitors may line up at the entrance on 14th Street. The Bureau is open for tours from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 - 2:00 with tours running every 15 minutes.
