Gus Congratulates Mrs. Countryside 2010 PDF Print E-mail

WASHINGTON, DC (October 18, 2010) – Last week, Gus had the pleasure of meeting with Debbie Struk, who won this year’s Mrs. Countryside award from the Countryside Rotary for her community involvement.

“It is people like Mrs. Struk who make this such a great country,” Gus said. “Her big heart and selfless attitude have made Countryside a better place and we can all learn a lot about the importance of community service and outreach from Mrs. Struk.”

Mrs. Struk was recognized for launching the Book Fairy Project, which has distributed more than 6,000 children’s books across Pinellas County, and for organizing annual Read Across America events. Among many other recognitions, she was also honored for holding breast cancer fundraisers, raising scholarship money for breast cancer survivors and working with the Haven Domestic Violence Shelter.

Congratulations, Mrs. Struk.
