Congressman Patrick Murphy Joined Gov. Edward Rendell and Local Officials to Announce AE Polysilicon’s Decision to Build a Production Facility and Headquarters in Bucks County

(Doylestown, PA) – Saturday, Pennsylvania Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-8th district) welcomed executives from AE Polysilicon to their new home in Falls Township, where the company will invest $70 million to develop a manufacturing facility at Keystone Industrial Port Complex, the former U.S. Steel site. AE Polysilicon manufactures a new material used to produce solar cells and modules for solar-powered electricity. The company is purchasing about 30 acres of land in the industrial site’s Keystone Opportunity Improvement Zone (KOIZ).

“With AE Polysilicon’s decision to move to Bucks County, we are going to be able to create high-paying jobs that play a key role in developing and using alternative energy,” said Congressman Patrick Murphy. “We can make Pennsylvania an energy hub, and I support Governor Rendell’s efforts to do so. By pursuing investments like AE Polysilicon, we can facilitate job growth and work to reduce our dependence on foreign oil here in the 8th district.”
