Health Care


During her tenure in the House, Ginny has taken a leadership role on health care issues.  Florida's 5th District is home to nearly 228,000 Medicare recipients, the most of any Member of Congress.  As such, she has worked to ensure that her constituents receive the quality health care that they deserve. 

At the start of the 111th Congress, Ginny was appointed to the powerful House Ways & Means Committee, where she sits on the Health Subcommittee.  She is also a member of the Republican Solutions group.  In both capacities, she is an outspoken proponent for the issues that matter to Floridians, such as Medicare reform and home health care.

Additionally, Ginny is fighting in Congress for affordable health care, and is working tirelessly to find an answer to the rising cost of prescription drugs.  Today, because of Ginny's efforts and the other Members of the House, every senior in American has access to Medicare Prescription Drug coverage.  Republicans in Congress have brought relief to our seniors by offering a first ever prescription drug benefit under Medicare while letting them choose a plan that best meets their individual needs.
