Welcome to Congresswoman Judy Biggert’s home page.
This week, the House will meet for legislative business beginning Monday, November 29, 2010. Scheduled for consideration is a resolution recognizing National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day, as well as legislation relating to nuclear energy R&D, Medicare reimbursements to physicians, the volume of television commercials, and child nutrition programs. The House also will consider S. 1421, the Senate companion to Rep. Biggert’s bill, the Asian Carp Prevention and Control Act, which will safeguard U.S. waters by preventing the importation of invasive Asian carp.

Biggert: Cost-Cutting Energy Bill Heads to White House
12/01/10WASHINGTON – Today, the House of Representatives passed legislation authored by Rep. Biggert (R-IL-13), Sens. Tom Carper (D-DE), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-MO), the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act of 2010. This bill is designed to ensure those who operate and maintain federal facilities have the training and resources they need to safeguard the significant investment we've made in energy efficient buildings. Biggert's Carp Counter Measure Heads to White House
12/01/10Washington, DC -- U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-13th-IL) today secured passage of bipartisan legislation designed to tighten restrictions on the importation of Asian carp, an invasive species threatening Great Lakes waterways. Sponsored by Senator Carl Levin (D-MI), S. 1421, the Asian Carp Prevention and Control Act, passed the House by voice vote and will now head to the President for his signature. Biggert, who has sponsored the House companion measure since 2007, called the bill's passage "a long-overdue victory for wildlife preservation.". . .
