Childhood Obesity
Children in America are eating more and moving less, resulting in skyrocketing childhood obesity rates. Obesity is a leading preventable cause of illness and death in this country. This is why Senator Franken supports programs to improve public health and reduce obesity. He is proud that Minnesota’s state legislature has taken action and implemented programs aimed at making Minnesota healthier, like the Statewide Health Improvement Program. Senator Franken will continue to work hard at the federal level to make sure that programs geared toward healthier living and reducing childhood obesity receive the funding they need.
