"To waste, to destroy, our natural resources, to skin and exhaust the land instead of using it so as to its usefulness, will result in undermining in the days of our children the very prosperity which we ought by right to hand down to them amplified and developed."

-- Theodore Roosevelt, Message to Congress, December 3, 1907

Representatives Clay Shaw (R-FL), John Tanner (D-TN), Ed Royce (R-CA), and Tom Udall (D-NM) founded the International Conservation Caucus in September 2003.  The Caucus is committed to helping the United States to lead public and private international partnerships that provide stewardship of natural resources for habitat and bio-diversity protection, poverty reduction, economic development and regional security.
