Capito Announces $153,500 for Randolph County Housing Authority

Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., today announced that the Randolph County Housing Authority has been awarded $153,500 for the Randolph County Housing & Transportation Plan.  The plan will identify and target housing and transportation needs as they relate to jobs and the growing senior population.

“I am pleased to announce that the Randolph County Housing Authority has been awarded this much needed funding to implement a plan to address transportation and housing needs in the community.  Access to reliable transportation, like busses, is critical to sustaining a vibrant economy, especially in rural communities. Grants like this one are vital in providing necessary means to programs that greatly improve our community, and I know they will be put to good use,” stated Capito.

Among other things, the project aims to develop a bus transit plan to specifically serve the needs of aging and disabled residents to connect to health care and community opportunity.  The grant is jointly funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
