Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., today announced that the Romney Wastewater Upgrade Project has been awarded $300,000 through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Funding for Romney will go toward designing and upgrading existing lift stations and a wastewater treatment facility that currently serves 1,027 customers.

 “Funding like this provides necessary assistance to upgrade and maintain our environmental infrastructure, including wastewater treatment, water supply and related facilities, and surface water resource protection.  Project funding is selected after a competitive application process, and I am grateful that the Army Corps of Engineers selected Hampshire County to receive this much-appreciated grant,” stated Capito.
