Coeur d’Alene, ID – Idaho Congressman Walt Minnick released the following statement regarding news that the U.S. economy grew in the fourth quarter of 2009, the fastest growth in six years, according to the Washington Post.
“The news today that our economy is growing at increasing speed is a hopeful sign, and a testament to the dedication of workers and business owners who are getting this economy moving again. It will take a bit more time for the unemployment rate to improve in the same fashion, so we in Congress must continue to do all we can to cut red tape, facilitate long-term economic sustainability and help put Americans back to work.”
Prior to being elected to Congress in 2008, Minnick spent over three decades as an Idaho business leader. He is a trained economist who graduated from Harvard Business School and who ran a Fortune 1000 company. Click here to read his full bio.
