Washington, DC - Tomorrow, Rep. Louise M. Slaughter ( D- Fairport) will be joined by Canadian Officials and local elected, business and community leaders to officially announce the opening of a second On-Demand NEXUS lane at Peace Bridge.
Rep. Slaughter will also announce the recent passage of her NEXUS Amendment through the U.S. House of Representatives.
NEXUS Amendment The Slaughter Amendment will alleviate border congestion by expanding pre-clearance programs like NEXUS, FAST, and SENTRI. The Amendment will also establish a customer service phone number to resolve issues over the phone rather than in an office visit, saving travelers valuable time and conserving government resources and would create one consistent NEXUS card for land and air travelers. NEXUS Air cards currently require a retinal scan, while NEXUS land cards use fingerprints.
