Rep. Slaughter on DeLay's Second Indictment Ranking Democrats Calls for End of former Leader's "Blame Game," Action from House Ethics Committee Washington, DC - Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (D-NY), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Rules, issued the following statement this morning in response to news that former Majority Leader Tom DeLay, has been indicted by a second Texas Grand Jury, this time for money laundering. "Yet again Tom DeLay refuses to take personal responsibility for his actions. It is time for him to end the blame game and let the justice system take its course," said Rep. Louise Slaughter. She continued, "I hope this development will light a fire under the Ethics Committee and inspire them to take action so that Mr. DeLay and other Members of Congress are held fully accountable for their unethical behavior." |
