WASHINGTON-Congressman Henry E. Brown, Jr. (R-SC) made the following remarks in advance of Veterans Day tomorrow:
“As our nation celebrates Veterans Day I am reminded of the bravery and sacrifice of all the uniformed men and women who have selflessly protected our country.
Just this Saturday, I had the honor to meet with World War II Veterans from South Carolina’s First District who participated in the Lowcountry Honor Flight to Washington, DC. I felt privileged to stand among some of our nation’s heroes as we viewed the WWII Memorial, a monument devoted to their valiant service to our country.
I am proud to serve as a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and as the Ranking Republican Member on the Subcommittee on Health. I am committed to ensuring all veterans receive the benefits they deserve in service to their country and I am passionate about increasing funding in the VA budget to improve facilities, upgrade services and create a more efficient and effective VA.
On Saturday, I was grateful to have the opportunity to personally thank WWII Veterans from South Carolina’s First District for their dedicated service to our country and today I remember all veterans who stood in defense of our nation. God bless our veterans and thank you for your service.”
