Brown Proud to Attend Special Boeing Bill Signing

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC- After attending a special signing of the incentive legislation that served as part of the successful bid to convince Boeing to build a second assembly line in North Charleston, Congressman Henry E. Brown, Jr. (R-SC) made the following statement:

“I was honored to join many of South Carolina’s state legislators and leaders at today’s bill signing and I am even more proud that Boeing has chosen North Charleston as the location of their newest assembly line for the 787.

This is historic news for the Lowcountry and I, along with the rest of the state, warmly receive Boeing’s expanded presence in our community and the bright future of employment and prosperity that they bring with them.

I was proud to have a part in this process and I sincerely congratulate the South Carolina delegation, our state legislators, state officials and all the other parties involved for their hard work and efforts in getting Boeing to North Charleston.

Finally, I would like to highlight the outstanding leadership of Boeing’s CEO, Mr. James McNerney, Jr. He is certainly an accomplished businessman and a high caliber individual. I thoroughly enjoyed working and meeting with him and I am honored to welcome him through this process and his wonderful company to the Palmetto State.”
